Introduction

Okay, so we know that health is where personal abilities are assessed with the look of being in peak performance for as long as we can to maintain being happy, and having the mental aspects to remain that way. But wellbeing is the 'how we are doing' side of this. It doesn't just look at individuals. It takes into account how we, as a community, or as a nation, are doing. It's very much a social attribute.

Take a Closer Look

Wellbeing takes into account a social aspect, but so much more. It involves the environment, and a psychological need that we each have as individuals, but it's looked at on a grander scale in terms of how all of our needs are being met. This can be for how a community (let's say, your local street you live in) is doing in terms of feeling good, or coping with everyday life. Or it could be taken on a national scale, to see how well we are coping with the government, for example. People's opinions do matter, even if they are sometimes ignored.

Factors around well-being include:

Home: if you have a family and your home life is struggling, you will need to figure out a way to balance both this and your work or school life.

Work/School: when you're working every hour that is available, this can be detrimental to yours and others' well-being. Like above, if you have a family, they can be emotionally detached from you if all you're doing is working away from home. Likewise for you, you may feel like you're missing out with things that your family may be doing.

Emotional support: it's well known that we all need help from time to time. This can include a support network of friends or colleagues that you may have. It also includes seeking professional help if and when needed. You should always take advice from a professional if you can.

Sitting up straight can actually be bad for your back, as you are putting more pressure on your spine. A better way is to sit leaning back slightly. Taking a break often also helps.
